ReelShort — signature short-drama poster

ReelShort

9.1

ReelShort tops our North America rankings for binge-worthy female-led short dramas with cliffhanger hooks — and it ships a free web version.

CEO RomanceSweet Romance

ReelShort is the short-drama app most people mean when they say “the one with the CEO stories.” Its catalogue leans hard into female-led CEO Romance (overbearing boss) arcs and Sweet Romance beats, and it is very good at what it does: every episode ends on a hook that makes the next one feel mandatory.

What we liked

  • The pacing is ruthless in the best way. Episodes are 60–90 seconds, and the edits are tuned for one-handed phone viewing on a bus or a lunch break.
  • The free web version is real. You can watch a meaningful chunk of most arcs in a browser without installing anything, which is rare among the big players.
  • The female-led writing is consistent — these are not recycled male-power fantasies with the genders swapped; the emotional logic is its own.

Where it slips

  • The coin economy gets aggressive deep into a binge. The first ten episodes feel generous; the back half will nudge you toward purchases.
  • Library depth is narrower than DramaBox if you want revenge or ensemble plots.

Bottom line

If your taste starts with “a powerful stranger mistakes me for someone else,” ReelShort is the cleanest place to start, and the web version means you can test it before subscribing.
